Substructures of the Flavian Palace
These brick substructures (late 1st c.), part of Domitian’s vast Flavian Palace on the Palatine Hill, supported the imperial residence above. A network of vaults, corridors, and service areas reflects the advanced Roman engineering that enabled monumental architecture while concealing the palace’s logistical and functional systems.
