Weevil in Amber
This Dominican amber specimen from early to mid-Cenozoic (c. 30–40 million years ago) contains a perfectly preserved weevil, an insect known for its elongated snout. Amber fossils like this one are invaluable for studying ancient forest ecosystems, capturing both biodiversity and ecological interactions from a time long before human history.
