Amber with Leaf Inclusion under UV Light
This polished piece of Dominican amber from early to mid-Cenozoic (30–40 million years ago) glows intensely under ultraviolet light, highlighting the silhouette of a fossilized leaf. Such botanical inclusions provide rare evidence of prehistoric flora, allowing scientists to reconstruct ancient environments and understand plant evolution in the tropical forests of the Caribbean basin.
