Death of an Anti-US Fighter
This historic image (1910-20s) shows a Dominican insurgent moments after being gunned down during the U.S. occupation (1916–24). His arms splayed open, the figure evokes a defiant martyrdom. Such photographs became symbols of anti-imperialist resistance and the human cost of foreign intervention in the Caribbean.
