Apollo and Hercules
The Apollo of Veii and Hercules are Etruscan terracotta sculptures (510–500 BC) from the Portonaccio Temple in Veii, dedicated to Minerva. These life-size statues, in late-archaic Etruscan style, depict a mythological contest between Apollo and Hercules over the golden-horned hind. They exemplify Etruscan artistry and prosperity before Roman dominance, remaining significant cultural artifacts of ancient Veii.
