Diquís Gold Adornments and Avian Pendants
This ensemble of Diquís goldwork (700–1550 AD) includes chest disks, avian pendants, and crescent-shaped pectorals. Birds, recurring in the pendants, symbolized shamanic transformation and celestial power. The embossed disks and collars signified elite status, linking spiritual authority with political leadership in ancient southern Costa Rica.
