Quimbaya Gold Funerary Masks
These hammered Quimbaya gold masks (500 BC and 1600 AD) were often placed in tombs serving as protective spiritual intermediaries and preserving the identity and prestige of the deceased. Their stylized expressions evoke ancestral presence and were believed to aid the soul’s journey to the afterlife.
