This Quimbaya gold figure (500–1000 AD) portrays a seated female leader, adorned with large nose and ear ornaments, symbolizing her elite status and ceremonial power. Crafted in tumbaga, a gold-copper alloy, using the lost-wax casting technique, it highlights the cultural importance of women in leadership and the spiritual prestige of ornamentation in Quimbaya society. This artifact reflects the deep-rooted traditions and social structures of ancient Colombia.
