Marine Sextant

Made in the 20th c. by Husun (H. Hughes & Son, London), this sextant improved on the octant by allowing measurements of up to 120°. It enabled navigators to calculate latitude with greater precision by observing the height of celestial bodies and measuring horizontal angles.
