Animal bones with central holes (južžalki) (12-13th cc.) were spun on strings to produce buzzing sounds—used as children’s toys or ritual items. The rounded and pierced bones below served as dice for medieval games. Found in Riga excavations, they reflect early leisure and folk traditions.
