Fragment of a Log Structure

This element of a wooden building (12–13th cc.) showcases typical techniques of medieval East European carpentry. The precise fitting of the logs and traces of charring suggest the structure was destroyed by fire. It stands as valuable evidence of housing culture in medieval Riga.
