Emblem of the Great Guild

This stylized black emblem adorned the walls of the Great Guild, Riga’s prestigious merchant association. By the mid-16th c., the guild included up to 200 burgher families, alongside goldsmiths and learned professionals, symbolizing their unity and elite status in the Hanseatic world.
