ZeusPhidias
This Roman copy of Phidias’ statue of Zeus (2nd–1st c. BC) replicates the original from Olympia, a Wonder of the Ancient World. Made of limestone and marble, it shows Zeus seated, holding a scepter and Nike. The original, crafted from ivory and gold, was over 12 meters tall and stood in the Temple of Zeus, symbolizing divine authority and artistic grandeur until its loss by the 6th c. AD.
