Greek Athletes on Attic Vase

This Attic vase (c.530–500 BC) shows two athletes in training, one striking with a stick while the other raises an arm in defense. Likely linked to the pankration, a brutal contest combining wrestling and boxing, the scene reflects Greek ideals of strength, skill, and discipline.
