Saint-Pierre-aux-Nonnains
This side view shows the long stone nave, high windows, and surviving Roman arches of St-Pierre-aux-Nonnains (4th c.). The building began as a civic basilica used for administration in the Roman city, then in the 7th c. it became a Christian church. Its layered masonry reveals a rare continuity from imperial Rome into medieval Western Christianity.
