St Peter-aux-Nonnains
This stone building (4th c.) shows a tall nave with small arched windows and a simple gabled façade rising above lower annexes. It began as a Roman gymnasium before its conversion into a Christian church, later serving a Benedictine abbey. Its reused Roman shell indicates how Metz preserved and adapted ancient structures into a medieval religious landscape.
