Sacred Ibex and Leopard Hunt
Spiral-horned ibexes and stalking felines animate this large boulder, their outlines incised into the weathered surface. Such petroglyphs from this region (8th c. BC–5th c. AD) belong to a long tradition of steppe rock art. The combination of prey and predators likely evoked both the dangers of the hunt and the protective power of animal spirits.
