Allegorical Scene with Crowned Figures and Neptune

This Mannerist fresco (1590) shows Neptune on a sea creature, flanked by crowned, merman-like figures who hold laurel wreaths and palm branches beneath an arch of heraldic and vegetal motifs. Created for the main hall ceiling, it combines Greco-Roman mythology with Renaissance allegory. The marine deities and triumphal emblems articulate ideals of virtuous rule within a Spanish American elite residence.
