Gothic Aisle of the Duomo
Clustered stone columns rise into a web of ribbed vaults in this Gothic interior (14th–15th cc.). Narrow stained glass windows filter muted light, accentuating the strong vertical lines of the side aisle. The dense rhythm of supports and arches creates a monumental stone canopy that turns structural necessity into a visual metaphor for spiritual ascent.
