Incorrupt Body of Saint Zita
Enshrined in the Basilica of San Frediano in Lucca, the incorrupt body of Saint Zita (1212–1272) lies in a glass casket, clothed in richly embroidered garments. A servant known for her devout charity and humility, she became Lucca’s beloved patron saint. Her preserved body has drawn pilgrims for centuries, embodying the city’s veneration of faith expressed through daily labor and kindness.
