Body of Saint Zita
The incorrupt body of Saint Zita (1212–72) lies in a glass shrine within the Basilica of San Frediano in Lucca. Clothed in embroidered garments, Zita was a servant known for her humility and care for the poor, later canonized as Lucca’s patron saint. Her preserved body continues to signify enduring civic faith and reverence for selfless service.
