Grenoble and the Belledonne Mountains
Seen from above, Grenoble lies at the foot of the Belledonne range, framed by snowcapped peaks. In the foreground stand the hexagonal towers of Villeneuve (1970s), symbols of postwar urban planning and social housing. Their geometric design contrasts with the alpine backdrop, showing Grenoble’s dual identity as research hub and mountain capital.
