Virgin of the Immaculate Conception
This central sculpture (18th c.) on the main altar portrays Mary crushing a serpent beneath her feet, a standard emblem of the Immaculate Conception. She stands frontally in blue and white robes, framed by rays and clouds. A mirrored, faceted niche surrounds the figure, multiplying reflections of gilded columns and silver ornament. The staging underscores Mary’s role as victorious intercessor between the faithful and salvation.
