Reflective Riders
This section of the Parthenon’s North Frieze (438–432 BC) depicts two horsemen with contrasting expressions: one bows his head in contemplation, while the other looks ahead with determination. Their differing postures emphasize individuality within the civic procession, reflecting Athenian ideals of personal reflection and communal identity, showcasing the cultural sophistication of Classical Greece.
