This gold bracelet from the Oxus Treasure (5th–4th cc. BC) exemplifies Achaemenid artistry. Found near the Oxus River in today’s Tajikistan, its terminals feature confronting animals symbolizing power and protection. Reflecting elite Persian craftsmanship, such pieces held ritual significance and embodied the wealth and beliefs of their owners, offering insight into the cultural world of ancient Bactria.
