Temple of the Mensores
This temple, erected in the early 2nd c. AD, formed part of a larger complex linked to the guild of grain measurers (mensores) in Ostia. Its high podium and central plan emphasized the sacredness of commercial fairness. The building celebrated those who ensured the integrity of food distribution in Rome’s main port city.
