Strasbourg Cathedral Facade
The Gothic facade of this cathedral (13th–15th cc.) rises abruptly above narrow medieval streets, its rose window and sculpted portals dominating the view. Modern crowds fill the space where pilgrims and traders once gathered for devotion and markets. The tight frame of half-timbered houses against vertical stone demonstrates how sacred architecture still structures movement and identity in the urban core.
