Château de Chenonceau Over River Cher
Château de Chenonceau (16th c.) elegantly spans the River Cher, embodying French Renaissance architecture. Known as the Ladies’ Castle, it was shaped by influential women such as Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. Its bridge-gallery combined elegance and strategy, serving as a royal promenade and later as a crossing between occupied and free France during World War II.
