Auxerre Clock Tower with Renaissance Dial
This photo shows Max before the Clock Tower in Auxerre, a Gothic tower crowned with a spire and Renaissance clock. Built in the 15th c. as part of the belfry, it symbolized civic pride and regulated city life. The golden sun-and-moon dial reflects Renaissance fascination with astronomy and order. Once marking the rhythm of merchants and magistrates, it still anchors Auxerre’s historic center as a link between communal identity and the flow of time.
