Romanesque Church and Convent Buildings
Founded in 1131 by Cistercians, this abbey complex reflects the order’s devotion to simplicity and nature. The Romanesque church (12th c.), with plain masonry and narrow windows, contrasts with later convent ranges marked by larger openings and more regular façades. Once a center of prayer and agrarian work, the site now welcomes guests, showing how monastic ideals adapt to contemporary forms of hospitality.
