Madeleine Islands from the Sea
These low-lying volcanic islets rise from the Atlantic off Dakar’s coast, forming the Parc National des Îles de la Madeleine. Sparsely vegetated and steeped in myth, the islands are a haven for seabirds and a striking symbol of Senegal’s rugged marine beauty. Access is limited, preserving their ecological and cultural significance.
