在数十万年的时间里，奇观洞穴中这些层层叠落的流石由富含矿物质的水缓慢沉积方解石而形成。它们如帘幕般的外观启发了“洞穴帘幕”这一称呼。这些结构记录了气候和地下水的细微变化，保存着自然环境历史的档案。
