Apartheid-Era Segregated Taxi Sign
This sign from South Africa during the apartheid era (1948–1994) marks a parking area designated for “non-white” taxis. Displayed in Afrikaans, English, and Zulu, it exemplifies the enforced racial hierarchy of the time. Such signage reduced dignity to categories, institutionalizing exclusion in every aspect of public life.
